Rachel’s professional experience has been in inpatient and community hospital settings in specialist brain injury services working with adults and adolescents. She has previously worked in health services in Australia and the UK a range of roles including Case Management and Research. Rachel has additional training in neurodiversity including ADHD and Autism.
Rachel’s aim is to provide a supportive and empathic environment to allow clients to identify their main concerns. Rachel values tailoring evidence based treatment plans to each individual client in a collaborative manner, with the aim of client’s independently managing their main concerns post treatment.
Rachel utilises evidence based treatment modalities including Eye-Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Modes (parts model in Schema Therapy), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing dependent on client needs. In particular, she values engaging in supporting skill development around managing distress, hyperarousal, hypoarousal, and exposure (both in vivo and imaginal) as an essential element in treating anxiety disorders and trauma. She provides values and goals directed therapy that is active and focused on achieving improvements. Rachel is a Board Approved Supervisor and provides clinical consultation and supervision for psychologists.
